Blondie will release the final recordings of co-founding drummer Clem Burke on High Noon, the band’s first studio album since 2017’s Pollinator. Due February 26, 2027 via BMG, the 13-track collection is previewed by “Spectral Eyes,” a new single written by Johnny Marr, who also plays guitar on the song.
Sessions for Blondie’s 12th studio album began in New York City in 2022 with returning producer John Congleton. Much of the recording took place with the musicians playing together in the same room. David Wrench later contributed additional production and mixing. Burke died in 2025, giving the recordings added significance for his bandmates.
Along with Marr, contributors include Glen Matlock, Zach Condon of Beirut and Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius.
“This album is classic Blondie — an amalgamation of all our different influences and eras into something new,” Debbie Harry stated. “This music feels grounded in the present, shaped by who we are and how we’re living now.”
Chris Stein added, “It’s been a long, strange ride, and somehow here we are with another Blondie album.”
Stein wrote “Heartbreak Kid” with Johnny Thunders in mind and teamed with Harry to write “Man Who Had No Face.” Matlock penned “Sleepwalking,” while “Little Metal Drummer” revisits a song from Blondie co-founding keyboardist Jimmy Destri’s 1981 solo debut, Heart On A Wall. Harry and Burke both appeared on Destri’s original recording.
Artist and director Rob Roth, whose work with Blondie dates to 1999’s No Exit, developed the album’s visuals with Untold Studios. The collaboration encompasses the artwork, visualizers and an upcoming Roth-directed short film featuring music from High Noon.
