By Scott Bernstein Jul 28, 2020 • 1:40 pm PDT
Neil Young detailed a series of series of five outtakes spanning 1966 – 1973 that will soon be available for subscribers of his Neil Young Archives website. Young listed each of the five tracks and noted the audio is “in production” and that “we will announce them when they are up.”
The oldest of the tracks is a demo of Buffalo Springfield-era tune “Runaround Babe” recorded on June 10, 1966. Also coming are outtakes from Young’s iconic Harvest album. “Bad Fog Of Loneliness” was recorded on February 6, 1971 with “Dance, Dance, Dance” laid down the following day.

Additionally, Young will issue a previously unreleased version of “The Loner” from his February 5, 1973 concert in Tuscaloosa, Alabama that didn’t make the cut for 2019’s Tuscaloosa live archival album. Finally, Neil will release “One More Sign,” a track he recorded at S.I.R. in Hollywood on August 26, 1973 during the sessions that yielded Tonight’s The Night.
The outtakes will be added to the “Cabinet” portion of NeilYoungArchives.com. Neil mentioned he will confirm the tracks have been uploaded via a note on the site’s main page when they are ready.
