Last night, legendary rocker and environmental activist Neil Young was a guest on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The Canadian musician just sat for an interview with the show’s host, opting not to perform on the program.

While Young’s appearance stuck to an interview, the chat included the veteran guitarist participating in a sketch regarding genetically modified organisms (GMO). The humorous interruption included a GMO corn intern getting into an argument with Young as Colbert played the role of referee. Here’s the portion of the interview featuring the costumed ear of GMO corn:

Earlier in the interview, the man described by Colbert as an “unreconstructed individualist hippie love-booster” spoke about his upcoming experimental new live album EARTH, his high fidelity streaming platform and player Pono, his current political views and more. Watch the first part of the interview here:

A clip was also taped by The Late Show of Young discussing the use of his song “Rockin’ In The Free World” by politicians at rallies – specifically Neil’s recent statement that he no longer objected to Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump using the song. Watch the brief segment below:
