Chicago prog-rockers Mungion are gearing up for the release of their debut album Scary Blankets, which is slated to be unveiled in May. Today, the band has shared an in-studio live performance of a song from the LP and have also announced they will play a Phish After-Party in their hometown this June.

Mungion show off their impressive chops and Zappa/Phish-influenced songwriting on the epic original “Nuthead.” Watch the band – which features Justin Reckamp (guitar/vocals), Joe Re (keyboards/vocals), Sean Carolan (bass/vocals) and David Collum (drums/vocals) – perform the tune at IV Labs in Chicago:

The band will return to Chicago for a Mungion & Friends’ post Phish After-Party on June 24 at Tonic Room. Tickets are available via SilverWrapper.com.
