On August 3, 2012 Bob Weir’s TRI Studios hosted a tribute honoring Jerry Garcia’s 70th birthday dubbed Move Me Brightly. The marathon five-hour concert featured a number of musicians shuffling in and out throughout the night including Weir, Phil Lesh, Joe Russo, Phish bassist Mike Gordon, singer-songwriter Jim Lauderdale, Black Crowes keyboardist Adam McDougall, Harper (Son of Paul) Simon, Yellowbirds’ Josh Kaufman and Sam Cohen, psych-folkie Jonathan Wilson, Bay Area singer-songwriter Cass McCombs, Vampire Weekend drummer Chris Tomson and Hold Steady members Craig Finn and Tad Kubler. As per a TRI Studios tip, Move Me Brightly will be released on DVD and Blu-Ray.

According to a listing on Blu-Ray.com the Move Me Brightly video release is set to hit stores and mailboxes on October 29. The running time is listed as 189 minutes, so the whole concert hasn’t made the cut. Since a number of artists who didn’t perform at the show but participated in a Luke Wilson-hosted documentary that aired before the concert are noted on the artwork above, we take it the wonderful 30-minute documentary will be included as part of the video release. We’ll keep you posted as more details emerge.
