moe. will release a new studio album entitled This Is Not, We Are on June 26 via their Fatboy Records imprint. The band previewed the forthcoming LP by sharing its first single, “LL3.”
This Is Not, We Are is the quintet’s long-awaited follow-up to 2014’s No Guts, No Glory. moe. spent most of the fall off the road to focus on the recording the album. Look for singles from This Is Not, We Are — which contains one song the band has yet to play live — to be released every Tuesday and Thursday. This Is Not, We Are is currently available for pre-order in digital form only. Those who pre-order “early” will receive a personalized postcard from a band member.

The album comes the same year moe. are celebrating their 30th anniversary. Bassist Rob Derhak recently put out a call for fans to share their favorite memories using the hashtag “#ThisIsNotWeAre” on social media. Derhak penned “LL3” about his experience fighting cancer in 2017. “LL3” is an acronym for “lower level 3,” the floor where he received radiation treatment at Boston’s Massachusetts General Hospital, as per Rob’s 2018 chat with the Press-Herald.
moe. debuted “LL3” live on February 2, 2018 at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester, New York — the night of the band’s first show back after Derhak’s successful battle with cancer. A page on moe.’s website notes eight singles will be released in total and seems to indicate a portion of the album’s cover art corresponds to each song.
