moe. wrapped up their livestream run at Big Blue North Recording Studio in Utica, New York on Saturday. The quintet unveiled a new original along with a Grateful Dead cover for the Big Blue finale.

As they had done the night before, moe. got things underway with vintage material in “Buster.” The band cycled through the song’s composed sections before guitarist Chuck Garvey stretched out on the tail end of the tune. “Downward Facing Dog” into “Deep This Time” came next ahead of the unveiling of “Undertone,” a Chuck-composed song that landed on moe.’s recently released 2020 album, This Is Not, We Are. “Undertone” then led into “Letter Home” ahead of “Tailspin.” Next, the relatively new tune, “Skitchin’ Buffalo,” which got the “Skitchin’ Buffalo Reprise,” composed by bassist Rob Derhak, tacked on for the first time live ahead of the set closer, “Wind It Up.”

A well-jammed “George” kicked off the second set, which saw some nice conga touches from percussionist Jim Loughlin. moe. then dipped into a minor jam, with guitarist Al Schnier adding some tasty riffs spurred on by the hi-hat of drummer Vinnie Amico. Garvey would take over on a major jam ahead of the band returning to the chorus. A no huddle “Blue Jeans Pizza” would pop up next. moe. kept rolling with “Crushing” and “LL3″ (after “LL3″ the band had played every song from their new album over the course of the weekend) and ended the segued section with “Bullet.” “Don’t Wanna Be” and the jam vehicle “Timmy Tucker” brought the second set to a close. moe. then delivered an encore that got going with the debut of the Grateful Dead’s “West L.A. Fadeaway.” Sung by Schnier, moe. put their own spin on the In The Dark cut driven by Derhak’s synthy bass and also featuring a vibraphone solo from Loughlin before Garvey brought it home. “New York City” would then close out the evening.
