Eggy’s Jake Browstein Cracks Open ‘Happy Hour Hero’ With moe. In Peoria

moe. and Eggy continued a joint run of concerts on Thursday at the Peoria Riverfront CEFCU Center Stage in Peoria, Illinois. Eggy guitarist Jake Brownstein sat in with moe. on their show-closing “Happy Hour Hero” encore.

Peoria is special for moe. as they typically spend Memorial Day Weekend co-hosting and co-headlining the Summer Camp Music Festival in nearby Chillicothe, Illinois. While the camp out wasn’t held this year, Summer Camp returns in 2026 in celebration of the festival’s 25th anniversary.

Eggy linked “Backyard Bear” and “High Noon” to begin last night’s show. Brownstein and bandmates drummer Alex Bailey and keyboardist Dani Battat (bassist Mike Goodman is taking a break from touring) then played a “Thorns” that gave way to a cover of the Grateful Dead’s “Cassidy” before they closed with “Rosetta Stone.”

moe.’s first of two sets in Peoria started with the recently revived “Calyphornya.” The sextet then ran through two-year-old originals “Tomorrow Is Another Day” and “Don’tcha Know” ahead of “Crushing.” From there, a pairing of classics “Bullet” and “Kyle’s Song” capped the frame.

“Prestige Worldwide” and “Jazz Wank,” two songs moe. hadn’t performed since March, were chosen to get the second set underway. “Jazz Wank” bled into “Spaz Medicine.” A seamless run of “Big World,” “Ricky Marten” and “Lazarus” brought set two to its conclusion.

moe. brought out Jake Brownstein to shred on the evening’s “Happy Hour Hero” encore. Brownstein is living out a dream this tour, as he entered the “I Wanna Be In moe.” contest in 2012. The extended “Happy Hour Hero” featured solos from Brownstein as well as moe. guitarist Chuck Garvey and keyboardist Nate Wilson.
