Foo Fighters Turn Back To The Present With ‘Your Favorite Toy’ On ‘Kimmel’

Foo Fighters returned to their latest album on Wednesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, performing its title track, “Your Favorite Toy.” The appearance marked the third night of the band’s weeklong residency on the ABC late-night show.

Released on April 24 via Roswell Records/RCA Records, Your Favorite Toy is Foo Fighters’ 12th studio album and their first with drummer Ilan Rubin. The band co-produced the 10-song collection with Oliver Roman, who also engineered the record.

The title track helped determine where the album would go. Frontman Dave Grohl explained when the song arrived in February that it emerged after more than a year of experimenting with sounds and dynamics. He called “Your Favorite Toy” “the key that unlocked the tone and energetic direction of the new album.”

Foo Fighters previously gave the song its first public performance on The Graham Norton Show in February. That rendition featured Scissor Sisters members Jake Shears and Babydaddy on backing vocals.

The band opened their Kimmel residency with “Window” on Monday before reaching back to their 1995 debut for “This Is A Call” on Tuesday. Grohl also sat for an interview with Jimmy Kimmel on Monday and revealed that a performance of Gerry Rafferty’s “Baker Street” was planned for later in the week. Foo Fighters remain booked as the show’s musical guests tonight.
