On Sunday, moe. played their final two sets at this year’s tropical throe.down event at Jewel Paradise Cove Resort in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. The performance featured a full-band segue with The New Mastersounds who took over the stage to cover The Meters.

The night began with moe. opening with “Annihilation Blues,” followed by the weaving together of “Lazarus,” “George” and “McBain.” The members of moe. then matriculated off stage as The New Mastersounds came on for a collaborative jam that eventually found guests taking over the stage for “Cissy Strut” with additional vocals provided by Lamar Williams Jr.. The guys in moe. reemerged and retook command of the stage as they led a transition back to “McBain.” Bassist Rob Derhak’s daughter Emma Derhak was then brought on to sing Steely Dan’s “Reelin’ In The Years” (just as she did on New Year’s Eve). The set closed with “Four.”

The final throe.down 2019 set kicked off with “Rainshine,” followed by a sequence of “Tubing The River Styx” > “The Pit” > “Don’t Fuck With Flo” > “meat.” The band then worked up “Don’t’ Wanna Be” and “Zed Naught Z” to draw an end to the second half. The band selected “Akimbo” for the encore, bringing to a close another island destination event.
