moe. Releases ‘Along For The Ride’ Single & Live Video
moe. will release their This Is Not, We Are studio album this Friday, June 26 and continue to preview their first new LP in six years. The latest track shared by moe. is “Along For The Ride,” one of nine songs included on their Fatboy Records release.
Bassist Rob Derhak wrote “Along For The Ride,” which was debuted live by moe. on February 23, 2019 at The Beacon Theatre in New York City. The quintet performed the song 10 additional times, including a version of February 28, 2020 at Revolution Hall in Portland, Oregon. Video of moe.’s “Along For The Ride” that combines footage from the studio and of the live take from Revolution Hall was premiered by Relix.
“Along For The Ride” is one of eight songs featured on This Is Not, We Are that the band has played before. The album also contains the never-before-heard “Undertone,” which fans can hear this Friday. moe. drummer Vinnie Amico told Relix the following about “Along For The Ride”:
Part of it changed before we got into the studio. The whole slow part that gets kind of spacey, coming out of [guitarist] Chuck’s [Garvey] solo, changed over time. That wasn’t there and we morphed it into that, which ended up making the song a little more interesting because all of a sudden we go into this different part, different tempo, different soundscape. Production-wise, it’s one of the coolest parts of the whole album.
