Metallica‘s Jimmy Kimmel Live takeover resumed on Wednesday. Not only did the Rock & Roll Hall Of Famers play the nine-minute title track from 1986’s Master Of Puppets, the band also gave mastering actual puppets a shot.

Tomorrow, (Friday, April 14) Metallica releases 72 Seasons, their 12th studio album and first since 2016. While the residency comes in celebration of the imminent LP, the quartet has only played one 72 Seasons cut thus far on Jimmy Kimmel Live. A “Lux Æterna” performance launched the takeover on Monday but then Metallica went with deep cut “Holier Than Thou” off their 1991 self-titled effort, aka “The Black Album,” on Tuesday.

Last night episode included a bit where Metallica visited the Bob Baker Marionette Theater. The four band members were taught how to use puppets before giving a show to kids portraying a quick version of Metallica history when hilarity ensued. Metallica went on to end the episode by romping through the beloved “Master Of Puppets.”
