Yesterday Mavis Staples, Alabama Shakes and Angelique Kidjo were among the performers at the Byron Bay BluesFest at Tyagarah Tea Tree Farm in New South Wales, Australia. Today, Staples posted video capturing the legendary soul and gospel singer backstage at Byron Bay singing her classic song “I’ll Take You There” with the help of Alabama Shakes front woman Brittany Howard, singer-songwriter Kidjo and others. The brief but spirited Easter Sunday impromptu jam took place in Staples’ dressing room where the women gathered for the a cappella rendition.
