Margo Price Performs Unreleased Song On ‘Sound Opinions’

Country singer-songwriter Margo Price recently recorded a session for an upcoming episode of Sound Opinions hosted by Greg Kot and Jim DeRogatis. Video footage of Margo Price performing the unreleased song “1-800-JESUS” at Goose Island Barrel House in Chicago has been shared from the session.

Margo talks about the genesis of the song at the beginning of the video. She explains “1-800-JESUS” came to her after seeing a billboard on the side of the road urging her to call the number referenced in the title. “All these people say ‘he’s listening,’ but sometimes you feel like he’s not,” Margo said. She debuted the song during a November appearance on NPR’s Fresh Air. The performance features Margo Price along with her husband Jeremy Ivey on guitar and dobro player Luke Schneider.

Price will appear on the June 15 episode of Sound Opinions. The interview and performance were recorded at Goose Island on April 13. Watch Margo’s rendition of “1-800-JESUS” below:
