Marco Benevento Details Debut Album On Big Crown Records ‘Glera’

Marco Benevento announced a new album, Glera, arriving on July 24 via Big Crown Records, marking the keyboardist’s debut LP on the label. Benevento previewed the album with “Houdini,” and will also perform never-before-heard-songs at his upcoming Follow The Arrow Festival.

Earlier this year, Benevento released his premiere single on Big Crown, “Frizzante,” alongside “Turnadot,” both bound for Glera. The latter features Italian singer Marianne Mirage. Additional vocalists on Glera include Dream Crease, Chiara Civello and Molly Lewis.

Leon Michels, Hether, Dave Guy, Homer Steinweiss, Elizabeth Steiner, Lee Falco, 13th Ward Social Club and Nick Movshon also contributed to the record. Press materials further detailed Glera:

The project began three years ago as a kind of private exercise, with Benevento writing intuitively, inspired by Italian film scores and melody. Over time, those sketches evolved into something broader and more muscular, culminating in the grand majesty heard here. What emerges is music that moves cinematically without becoming precious. Tracks can feel like chase scenes or slow dissolves, sometimes within the same song, with jazz improvisation sharing space alongside reggae pocket, orchestral elements, and psych-pop atmosphere. It’s exploratory but grounded, complex yet unmistakably groove-forward.
