Bassist Marc Brownstein (the Disco Biscuits), guitarist Al Schnier (moe.), keyboardist Joel Cummins (Umphrey's McGee) and drummer Vinnie Amico (moe.) joined forces at Garcia’s on Wednesday for the 2024 Rock The Pink Gala. The jam scene all-stars delivered two sets of pink-themed covers, including a slew of Pink Floyd classics and a take on Chappell Roan‘s “Pink Pony Club” at the Port Chester, New York venue.

The concert held during Breast Cancer Awareness Month was part of the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) nationwide Rock The Pink campaign. Proceeds from the Rock The Pink Gala were donated to the ACS to help fund groundbreaking cancer research, patient care programs and much more.

Cummins led the quartet through a well-jammed “Breathe” to get last night’s festivities underway. “Breathe” gave way to a Schnier-helmed version of Bruce Springsteen’s “Pink Cadillac.” The group then returned to the Pink Floyd catalog for “Have A Cigar” and “Young Lust” with a Schnier-sung take on The Flaming Lips’ “Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots, Pt. 1” fit in between.

CNBC reporter and musician Steve Liesman joined the four musicians on acoustic guitar for John Mellencamp’s “Pink Houses.” Liesman then fronted the ensemble of a set-closing “Don’t Ease Me In,” which he noted was the only Grateful Dead song to include “pink” within its lyrics.

The four-piece went heavy on Pink Floyd favorites during the second set, starting with a “Happiest Days Of Our Lives > Another Brick In The Wall Pt. 2.” Next, Amico and Schnier shared lead vocal duties on “Comfortably Numb” before Cummins captained the aforementioned “Pink Pony Club.” Joel Cummins was also in the spotlight for the ensuing “Time > Breathe (Reprise).”

The stage was then given over to Schnier and Cummins, who performed Nick Drake’s “Pink Moon.” Vinnie Amico and Marc Brownstein returned to help close out the memorable concert with the Pink Floyd gem “Fearless.”
