The 9th Annual Manifestivus, taking place July 22-23, 2011 in Cabot, VT, has a contest beginning on Thursday, July 14th at 12:01 am. The last contest will end Wednesday July 20th at 11:59 pm. This year’s featured bands include Brett Dennen, Toubab Krewe, Giant Panda Guerilla Dub Squad, Locos Por Juana, The Infamous Krewe (Toubab Krewe + The Infamous Stringdusters), The London Souls, and Movement of the People (a Fela Kuti tribute ensemble).

New this year at Manifestivus is a second stage with Vermont artists, a Magic Hat Beer Garden featuring Manifestivus-Ale, and a late-night Silent Disco.

The family-friendly event offers on-site camping, yoga and West African dance and drumming workshops. Vendors of authentic African and Ital food, as well as local arts and crafts, round out the cultural experience. The site also boasts hiking trails, which wind through beaver ponds, marsh and woodland forest, and a large swimming pond. The 200+ children that attend the festival have an entire supervised area devoted to fun, games and culture.
