Once again, friends of JamBase Brad Mastrine and Mindy Mastrine are raising money through their Make Cancer A No Brainer organization to support brain cancer research via an online auction. Exclusive music and entertainment items from Phish, Dead & Company, Bob Dylan, Dave Matthews Band and many others are available for bidding.
Shortly before her 40th birthday, Mindy Mastrine – a mother of three children – was diagnosed with two Oligo brain tumors in 2012. Soon after, the Mastrines partnered with Oligo Nation, which was founded by Brock Greene whose two sons were diagnosed with Oligo brain cancer, to launch the annual Make Cancer A No Brainer online auction.
“Mindy’s diagnosis came with no warning signs and while after more than a year and a half of treatment she was doing well, as a husband and father of three young children, I couldn’t sit back and wait,” said Brad Mastrine, founder of Make Cancer A No Brainer. “Brain cancer is far from rare and has one of the lowest long-term survival rates of all cancers. Five years ago there was no funding for medical research on Oligo brain cancer. By partnering with Oligo Nation we know that more than 95% of funds raised through the Make Cancer a No Brainer Auction will go directly to research.”
