On August 10 The Magpie Salute will issue High Water I their debut studio album of original material via Mascot/Eagle Rock. Last month the Southern rock act, who headed into the studio as a six-piece, offered up the first taste of what’s to come and have now shared the album’s second single, “For The Wind.”
Rich Robinson shared the following with Billboard about the track that predated his latest band. “That’s an old song that I had but could never fit it anywhere. That was the only song that I brought to the table musically that was finished; John (Hogg) wrote the lyrics, but this song was arranged and solid. There were certain things I tweaked over the years, but it never really worked in the other contexts I was in. But I played it for everyone, and they loved it. And just to hear that song come to fruition after years of having it is great.”
