Singer-songwriter Maggie Rose recently played a session for American Songwriter’s “Behind The Mic” video series at the Gibson Garage space in Nashville. Footage featuring Rose’s “Do It” performance has been shared.

“Do It” is the lead single from Maggie’s forthcoming Have A Seat album. Have A Seat, Rose’s third album, arrives through Starstruck Records on August 20.

Maggie was joined by percussionist Brother Love (Larry Florman) and guitarist Kyle Lewis from her band, Them Vibes, for the stripped-down “Do It” performance. Rose explained she wrote the song with Florman and Alex Haddad.

“The lyrics began pouring out as we were fueled by our convictions,” noted Rose regarding “Do It” when the album was announced. “I remember jotting down lyrics as fast as I could and singing loudly and confidently before having really settled on a structure because where it was going simply felt right.”
