Lotus will present a pair of benefit concerts celebrating the lives of the band’s percussionist Chuck Morris and his son Charley Morris at the Fillmore Auditorium in Denver on April 21 and 22. Full net proceeds from the guest-filled shows will go to the Morris Family.
Chuck and Charley Morris disappeared on Thursday, March 16 after embarking on a kayaking trip on Beaver Lake near Fayetteville, Arkansas. A search to find the father and son was shifted to a recovery effort last week.
Lotus will be joined by a number of close musical friends and collaborators at both concerts. Former guitarist Mike Rempel and original drummer Steve Clemens will reunite with their former bandmates to honor Chuck and Charley in Denver. Others confirmed to participate include vocalist Gabe Otto, percussionist Jeff Franca (Thievery Corporation), drummer Allen Aucoin (Disco Biscuits), drummer Dave Watts (The Motet), guitarist Jeff Lloyd (The Heavy Pets), drummer Rohan Prakash (Hive Mind), multi-instrumentalist Wilson (Giant Walking Robots), drummer Scotty Zwang (Ghost Light), guitarist/drummer Jeff Peterson, vocalist/percussionist Anthony Fugate and members of Genetics.
Additional guests will be announced soon. “Fee Free” tickets for both shows are on sale now.
