Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Dark Star Orchestra, Lotus & More Announce ‘Live-In Drive-In’ Concerts In Philadelphia

Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, Dark Star Orchestra and Lotus are among the acts that will perform live in the parking lot of Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia as part of the Live-In / Drive-In concert series. The series runs from August 16 – September 7 and organizers will abide by the current health and safety protocals and regulations to keep fans, artists, crew and staff safe with concertgoers asked to maintain social distancing from their own vehicles.

Comedian Bert Kreischer kicks off the series on August 16. Pigeons Playing Ping Pong are scheduled to perform on August 21 with The Struts to follow on August 22 and The Front Bottoms on August 23. Mt. Joy continues the series on August 25 before concerts from Subtronics on August 26 and Smith & Meyers on September 3.

Labor Day Weekend begins with a performance from Philly’s own Lotus on September 4. Then, Grateful Dead tribute act Dark Star Orchestra play the lot on September 5 and 6. Michael Blackson & Friends with special guest DJ Jazzy Jeff are currently slated to end the series on September 7.

Tickets will be sold by car with a maximum of four passengers per vehicle. Video will be displayed on large LED screens with audio broadcast over FM. A pre-sale for Citi credit card holders begins today (Tuesday, July 21) at 12 p.m. ET. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, July 24 at 10 a.m. ET via Ticketmaster.
