LETTUCE ENTER THE STUDIO TO RECORD NEW LP;
HOLIDAY RAGE ON DEC. 14 AT BROOKLYN BOWL

2011 has been an extraordinary year for The Royal Family. The record label and community of musicians comprised of Soulive, Lettuce, Nigel Hall and Break Science among others, kicked things off with Bowlive 2. Soulive and Lettuce then presented their own U.S. tour dubbed The Royal Family Ball. Topping off the year, The Royal Family played host to The Royal Family Affair, a three-day festival in August at Vermont’s Stratton Mountain.

Now to blow out 2011 with one last celebration, Lettuce and The Nigel Hall Band will headline The Royal Family Holiday Rage on Wednesday, December 14 at Brooklyn Bowl. The performance coincides with Lettuce, the seven-piece funk tour de force, entering the studio to begin work on their next album.

“We’re at Bunker Studios in Brooklyn cutting our new record to two-inch tape. The sounds in here are amazing,” states guitarist Eric Krasno. “We’re very excited to be documenting the band following one of the best years we’ve had together since forming back in ’92.”

Along with a new studio album from Lettuce, The Royal Family has a number of plans already in the works for 2012. They’ve just announced Snowlive, a four-day event headlined by Soulive, with guests, including Matisyahu, Talib Kweli and Ivan Neville, at Crystal Bay Club in Crystal Bay, NV from February 22 through February 25. Later in the year, Soulive will drop a new EP dedicated to the memory of soul jazz legend and guitarist Melvin Sparks. Fans can also expect an announcement about Bowlive 3 in the coming weeks.
