As we approach tomorrow’s Late Show With David Letterman finale, we’ve been rolling out Letterman Music Files posts devoted to sharing amazing musical performances from David Letterman’s tenure as host of NBC’s Late Night and CBS’s The Late Show. Previous installments featured Jerry Garcia and Bob Weir in 1989, James Brown in 1982 and The Black Crowes Through The Years. Today, we look at a more recent Letterman performance. 
On June 8, 2006 Kentucky rockers My Morning Jacket visited The Late Show With David Letterman in support of their fourth studio album, Z. MMJ were joined by members of The Boston Pops for a joyous version of “Gideon” that night. All the members of the band sported tuxedos for the occasion.
