British pop duo Let’s Eat Grandma shared a reimagining of Nick Drake’s “From The Morning.” The track is set to land on the forthcoming tribute album, The Endless Coloured Ways – The Songs Of Nick Drake, due out on July 7 via Chrysalis Records.

Nick Drake Estate manager Cally Callomon and Chrysalis CEO Jeremy Lascelles heralded The Endless Coloured Ways with Fontaines D.C.’s version of Drake’s “Cello Song.”

“Cally and I embarked on this venture with one simple brief to each of the artists,” Lascelles noted, “that they ignore the original recording of Nick’s, and reinvent the song in their own unique style.”

Let’s Eat Grandma’s version of “From The Morning” is the second preview of the album and the Nick Drake song from which The Endless Coloured Ways draws its title. “From The Morning” originally appears on Drake’s 1972 album, Pink Moon, the final record released before his tragic death in 1974.

“It has meant a lot to me to cover ‘From The Morning,’” Jenny Hollingworth of Let’s Eat Grandma said. “I’ve always thought of it as the most hopeful song on Pink Moon and listening to its lyrics about nature showing us the beauty in the light and darkness and how life and death are connected helped me to find acceptance and comfort after loss. Thank you so much to David Wrench for working on it with me.”
