lespecial Announces New Album ‘Ancient Homies’

lespecial announced a new album, Ancient Homies, due out on December 4 through Ropeadope Records and available to preorder on November 6. The new studio LP is the Conecticut-based power trio’s first in three years.

Ancient Homies is lespecial’s third studio album overall. It follows their 2017 LP, Cheen, and their 2015 album, Omnisquid. The band was also involved in the collaborative 2020 EP Big Things (Changing Gears) with Shwizz and Consider The Source.

Bassist Luke Bernard spoke about the new album in a statement. Read it below:

Ancient Homies is a sort of paradox that feels true to our character. The term “Ancient” evokes feelings of mysticism and omnipotence, and yet at the end of the day, we are just three homies, three lifelong friends who have embraced our calling to make music together. While some of the material is dark, the overarching absurdity of life and of our music reminds us to not take it too seriously.
