The Wizard was in last night when Laufey brought out Jeff Goldblum at the first show of her United Kingdom arena tour. The actor/musician and the Icelandic artist teamed up to play “Misty” for Laufey fans at Co-op Live in Manchester, England.
Laufey is touring behind her Grammy-winning 2025 album A Matter Of Time. The setlist in Manchester saw Laufey perform 13 of the 14 tracks from the record. She also looked to her 2023 LP Bewitched for seven tunes and her 2022 debut record Everything I Know About Love for three songs.
Each show is split into four acts, a brief Final Act and encore. Jeff Goldblum came out for the final song of Laufey’s third act. Goldblum told a screaming crowd he feels Laufey is “the greatest superstar on the Planet Earth, in [his] humble opinion.”
Dressed to the nines in a gold jacket that matched Laufey’s dress, Goldblum hopped behind the piano to accompany her on the memorable “Misty” cover. The song was written and initially recorded by Erroll Garner in 1954 with lyrics added later by Johnny Burke. Johnny Mathis landed a hit with his version in 1959.
