Kris Kristofferson & Kacey Musgraves Join Willie Nelson In Los Angeles

Outlaw country icon Willie Nelson performed Thursday night at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The concert saw fellow country legend Kris Kristofferson as well as Kacey Musgraves onstage with the 84-year-old headliner.

Nelson’s second show since having to cut short his concert in Salt Lake City earlier this week due to altitude sickness, opened with “Whiskey River.” Willie and The Family Band also offered favorites such as “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys,” “Angel Flying Too Close To The Ground,” “Crazy” and “On The Road Again.”

Musgraves was on hand to open the concert and she and her band mates were welcomed back to the stage toward the latter half of Nelson’s set. The collaboration included Kristofferson on vocals for a rendition of “Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die.” The guests also helped out on a medley of traditional hymns “Will the Circle Be Unbroken?,” and “I’ll Fly Away” and Hank Williams’ “I Saw the Light.”

Audience-shot video of the collaborative medley from last night in L.A. captured by Rich Saputo is below:
