Kevin Scott Recruits Jennifer Hartswick, Duane Trucks, Charlie Starr & More For Funky Holiday Spectacular 2024 Concert

Gov’t Mule/Warren Haynes Band bassist Kevin Scott will continue a tradition of hosting annual all-star holiday concerts in Atlanta next month. Kevin Scott’s Funky Holiday Spectacular will be held at the Variety Playhouse on Thursday, December 19.

Kevin Scott will serve as bandleader for an impressive ensemble at the concert that also includes Jennifer Hartswick (Trey Anastasio), Duane Trucks (Widespread Panic), Mark Lettieri (Snarky Puppy, The Fearless Flyers), Will Montgomery, Emil Werstler, Grant Green Jr., Jontavious Willis, Mark Raudabaugh (Sierra Hull, Donna the Buffalo), (Warren Haynes Band, Aquarium Rescue Unit, Railroad Earth), Rhett Huffman (American Aquarium), , Dan Wytanis (Ghost Note), Mark Rivers (Tedeschi Trucks Band), Brenda Moore, Amanda Joy, Rob Lane and Ruby Velle.

The house band is prepping “tunes ranging from James Brown and Otis Redding to Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin to Frank Zappa and Black Sabbath, and a few seasonal standards with just the right amount of holiday flavor,” as per a press release announcing the concert. Mini-sets at Kevin Scott’s Funky Holiday Spectacular will be led by Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke), Benji Shanks (Blackberry Smoke), Duane Trucks and Kevn Kinney. More special guests are to be announced with a few surprises expected.

Both GA and VIP tickets for the 2024 Funky Holiday Spectacular are on sale now. Proceeds from the show will benefit The Georgia Music Foundation and Backline.
