Jimmy Fallon revived his “Classroom Instruments” segment with a special installment starring Kenny Loggins on Wednesday’s episode of The Tonight Show. Loggins teamed with Fallon, The Roots and a few surprise guests to perform a medley of songs from across his illustrious career on instruments for kids.

Kenny Loggins swung by 30 Rock on the eve of his induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Loggins will receive the honor alongside Alanis Morissette, Taylor Swift and KISS’ Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley tonight in New York City.

The medley began with a mashup of Loggins’ solo hits “I’m Alright” and “Danger Zone” and Loggins & Messina number “Your Mama Don’t Dance.” Two of the songs were featured in ’80s films with “I’m Alright” appearing in Caddyshack and “Danger Zone” used in Top Gun.

The music came to a screeching halt when actor John Lithgow entered the scene. Lithgow reprised his role as Reverend Shaw Moore in the 1984 film Footloose. “Now, wait a minute. Everybody listen to me,” the actor exclaimed. “I object to this kind of music. It’s illegal in this building,” Lithgow said in repeating lines from the movie.

“Illegal?” Loggins said before Fallon responded with “But I thought we’re just having fun?” Footloose star Kevin Bacon then enters the fray with a brightly colored mini-guitar for a rousing rendition of Loggins’ “Footloose.” The segment concluded with an a capella take on “Celebrate Me Home,” the title track from Kenny Loggins’ 1977 debut solo album.
