Kansas City Monarchs Announce 2025 KC Blues & Jazz + Funkenstein Festivals

Professional baseball team, the Kansas City Monarchs, will host two festivals at Legends Field this fall. The KC Blues & Jazz Festival '25 will take place on Friday, October 3 and Saturday, October 4, followed by the Funkenstein Fest '25 on Friday, October 24 and Saturday, October 25.

The Kansas City Monarchs were founded in 1920 as one of the first teams in the Negro Leagues. In 2011, the team was reborn as a member of the American Association of Professional Baseball.

KC Blues & Jazz Festival, a two-day celebration of the iconic Kansas City Sound, will honor the city’s deep-rooted musical legacy. Stanley Clarke Quartet, Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe, Shemekia Copeland and the Bill Frisell Trio with special guest Gregory Tardy top the bill. High Society, Jackie Myers, Roosevelt Collier, Harrell “Young Rell” Davenport, Brody Buster's Revival and Ken Lovern’s Organ Jazz Trio are among other acts featured on the first annual revival’s lineup.

Held just miles from the birthplace of jazz icon Charlie Parker, KC Blues & Jazz Fest ’25 will offer attendees an eclectic soundtrack, along with food and beverage options inspired by the city’s rich culinary roots. General Admission, VIP, Private Suite and Home Plate Suite passes are on sale now.

Big Gigantic and The Floozies headline the inaugural Funkenstein Fest. The two-day Halloween-themed, EDM-style music festival will also feature performances from The Funk Hunters, Haywire, The Sponges, Marvel Years and Jason Leech.

Outside the music, Funkenstein Fest will feature interactive art installations, specially-curated food and beverage experiences and Halloween-themed activities. Attendees are encouraged to wear costumes.
