Kamasi Washington & El DeBarge Honor George Michael At BET Awards

Hot off a performance with The String Cheese Incident at Electric Forest, saxophonist Kamasi Washington headed to Los Angeles for Sunday night’s BET Awards. Kamasi took part in a segment honoring those we’ve lost since the last BET Awards, as he teamed with El DeBarge for George Michael’s “Careless Whisper.”

The performance part of the segment began with Roman GianArthur showing off his guitar skills on Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode.” From there, Washington took center stage with DeBarge for an impressive rendition of one of George Michael’s biggest hits. Watch the whole segment which ends with “Careless Whisper”:
