Julien Baker Plots Fall Rock Club Residencies Following Surprise Nashville Show

Julien Baker will settle in for three-night stands at rock clubs in six cities this fall. The 18-show residency tour follows a surprise, immediately sold-out concert last night at The Blue Room in Nashville, where Baker showcased several unreleased songs.

Baker will be joined by longtime collaborators Matt Gilliam and Calvin Lauber for the run. “Calvin, Matt, and I have been working on new music and we’d love to play it for you,” Baker wrote about the run on Instagram.

The trio will launch the tour with three nights at Kilby Court in Salt Lake City October 15 – 17. Residencies at The Middle East in Cambridge (Massachusetts), Cat’s Cradle in Carrboro (North Carolina), 40 Watt in Athens (Georgia) and Bottleneck in Lawrence (Kansas) follow before the tour concludes with three nights at Neumos in Seattle November 19 – 21.

Tickets will only be sold in person at each venue’s box office beginning Saturday, September 12 at 10 a.m. local time. A portion of the proceeds will benefit The Ally Coalition and its work supporting LGBTQ youth.

Baker previewed the upcoming run last night at Third Man Records’ The Blue Room with Gilliam and Lauber. The 16-song set opened with the unreleased “Lathe” and featured material spanning Baker’s catalog, including “Hardline,” “Favor,” “Tokyo,” “Sprained Ankle,” “Turn Out The Lights” and “Everybody Does.”

New music was a significant component of the performance. In addition to “Lathe,” Baker played three unidentified unreleased songs late in the set. Fan-shot video captured one of the new songs performed by Baker and her band.

The return to rock clubs follows Baker’s residency-heavy 2024 Fall Tour, her first solo outing since 2022. That run featured three-night stands at Thalia Hall in Chicago and Webster Hall in New York City along with a five-show London residency. Baker's 2024 Fall Tour came after an extensive run with boygenius, the trio she formed with Phoebe Bridgers and Lucy Dacus. Boygenius released the Grammy-winning the record in 2023 and toured extensively in support of the album.

Baker subsequently teamed with TORRES for the country album Send A Prayer My Way, which arrived in April 2025. The pair announced the collaborative album after years of teasing the project and embarked on a supporting tour that spring. The remaining May dates were canceled after Baker opted to prioritize her well-being.

More recently, Baker joined Hayley Williams in Los Angeles this past May to perform “Parachute” at the Wiltern.
