Kings Of Leon Announce New Album ‘O My Beloved’ & Share ‘My Whole World’ Single

Kings of Leon will release their 10th studio album, O My Beloved, on November 6 via Love Tap Records/Virgin Music. The band previewed the record today with its first single, “My Whole World.”

O My Beloved marks Kings of Leon’s first full-length album produced entirely by the band. Their previous album, Can We Please Have Fun, was produced by Kid Harpoon and issued in May 2024.

The direction of the new record took shape after Caleb Followill severely injured his foot while playing tag with his children last year. The injury forced Kings of Leon to cancel a run of European dates and left Followill unable to travel. He told The Associated Press that after a few days he picked up an acoustic guitar and began writing songs reminiscent of material he and drummer Nathan Followill created before Kings of Leon formed.

The band subsequently set aside four or five more electric-oriented songs it had been developing in favor of the stripped-down material that became O My Beloved. The album centers on family, childhood memories, gratitude and the group’s shared history.

“We have already surpassed anything we ever imagined we could do, and we’ve built something so special,” Caleb Followill stated. “I thought, wouldn’t it be beautiful to make an album that is looking back on all of the things that we’ve done and appreciating how we got here.”

That approach extends to “My Whole World,” an acoustic-led song Followill wrote while recovering from his injury and separated from his family. The accompanying music video incorporates Followill family home movies, including footage from the band members’ childhood.

Kings of Leon will mark the album announcement with an intimate concert tonight at The Basement East in their hometown of Nashville. The club show brings the band back to the type of small-room setting its members played while getting their start in Music City. Tickets are sold out.
