Joy Oladokun Releases ‘Fortune Favors The Bold’ Single Featuring Tim Gent
Listen to the acclaimed singer-songwriter’s second single of 2022.

Joy Oladokun shared a new single, “Fortune Favors The Bold,” featuring hip hop artist Tim Gent. The track is the second song the Nashville-based singer-songwriter has put out this year following the release of her major label debut album, in defense of my own happiness, which arrived in June 2021.
Oladokun previously shared the 2022 single, “Keeping The Light On,” a co-write with Mike Elizondo and Ian Fitchuk. On the new single, “Fortune Favors The Bold,” Joy worked with songwriters Jeremy Lutito and Natalie Hemby.
“We wrote this song as a sort of way to imagine a world where victims are heard and addictions are met with compassion,” Oladokun said of the new single. “Natalie, Jeremy and I all felt that the most powerful people we’ve encountered in our lives were also the most compassionate. This song is both a celebration of those people and a way of hoping that the influence of kindness and care continues to spread until this world is a radically different place.”
