Today, Joy Oladokun shared the new single “Keeping The Light On.” The track marks the Nashville-based singer-songwriter’s first new music since the 2021 release of her major label debut album, in defense of my own happiness.

“Keeping The Light On” was penned by Oladokun, Mike Elizondo and Ian Fitchuk. “My next body of work is about the human will to keep trying in the midst of all the tragedy that we’ve seen and perpetrated,” Oladokun said in a press release. “‘Keeping the Light On’ is my little musical way of saying it’s really hard to keep trying but I think part of life is doing so anyway and seeing what magic comes out of it.”

Joy will hit the road for her first headlining tour this spring. The excursion starts at Antone’s Nightclub in Austin on April 7. Dallas, Phoenix, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Boston, New York City and Atlanta are among the cities she’ll play before the tour wraps up with two nights in Nashville on May 14 and 15. Oladokun will then make her debut appearances at both the Hangout and Bonnaroo festivals.
