Legendary musician Joni Mitchell captivated audiences with a stunning performance during last night’s FireAid benefit concert for L.A. wildfire relief. Mitchell was part of the all-star lineup appearing at the Kia Forum, while another impressive lineup staged a simultaneous concert at the nearby Intuit Dome.

The Canadian-born Mitchell has been a resident of the nearby Laurel Canyon region of Los Angeles for decades. According to Mitchell’s website, in 1969 she purchased “a small house where she and Graham [Nash] eventually lived together for a time with ‘two cats in the yard.’” Graham Nash was also part of last night’s FireAid benefit.

Seated center-stage in an ornate chair, Mitchell’s FireAid contribution was a captivating performance of her song, “Both Sides Now.” Mitchell was joined by recent frequent collaborator Blake Mills on guitar. Mills’ former bandmates, Taylor Goldsmith and Griffin Goldsmith of fellow FireAid performers Dawes, as well as Lucius’ Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig, were among the vocalists backing Mitchell.
