Jon Batiste Performs ‘Tiny Desk Concert’

    NPR Music issued the following correction: Jon Batiste’s Tiny Desk Concert was published prematurely. The new publication date is March 2020.

Jon Batiste is featured in the latest installment of NPR Music’s Tiny Desk Concert series. The Late Show With Stephen Colbert bandleader did not bring his band mates from the talk show, instead choosing to recruit a special group of musicians that included Ghosts Of The Forest member Celisse Henderson on guitar.

Batiste, who played keys and guitar, was also joined by bassist Endea Owens, drummer Sarah Thawer and percussionist Negah Santos. Celisse also recently appeared on Saturday Night Live with musical guest Lizzo. The Tiny Desk set consisted of Batiste leading the ensemble through “Cry,” “Coltrane,” “Tell The Truth” and “I Need You.” The complete Tiny Desk Concert from Bob Boilen’s workspace at NPR can be viewed below:
