Watch John Mayer Play Passionate ‘Ripple’ Cover On Double-Neck Guitar In Denver

John Mayer’s debut solo acoustic tour rolled through Ball Arena in Denver on Monday. The Dead & Company guitarist delivered a cover of the Grateful Dead classic “Ripple” and also fit in rarities in the Mile High City.

While Mayer launched the concert with his usual opener for the tour, “Slow Dancing In A Burning Room,” the guitarist did throw some variation in the set, offering the solo acoustic tour debut of Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m On Fire,” as per SetlistFM stats. After “3×5,” Mayer performed the first “Good Love Is On The Way,” from the John Mayer Trio catalog, since 2017. The freshly debuted new original “In The Neighborhood” also made its second appearance in Denver.

Mayer continued the bust outs in his piano segment, playing “I Will Be Found (Lost at Sea)” off his 2013 LP, Paradise Valley, for the first time since 2017. “Ripple” made its first appearance at a John Mayer solo show since 2019 as the first song in the guitarist’s double neck segment. John began the song on the six-string and finished up on the 12-string.
