Grateful Dead tribute act Joe Russo’s Almost Dead was scheduled to play Red Rocks in Morrison, Colorado this Saturday night. Unfortunately, the threat of bad weather has forced the band and organizers to move the show indoors. Thankfully, JRAD has announced a late summer gig at the iconic venue.
Joe Russo’s Almost Dead’s Saturday night concert featuring support from Medeski, Martin & Wood will now take place at the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado. All tickets for Saturday’s Red Rocks show will work at 1stBank Center. The entire room will be GA. For those ticketholders who do not want to attend, refunds are available at the point or purchase. MMW will take the stage at 6:30, while JRAD’s first of two sets will begin at 8:30. A limited number of tickets for Saturday’s performance are available here.
The five-piece has softened the blow by announcing they will play Red Rocks on August 31. While regular bassist Dave Dreiwitz will be on the road with Ween, Dead & Company’s Oteil Burbridge has stepped up to fill his shoes for the evening. Note, the concert will take place one night ahead of Phish’s annual run at nearby Dick’s Sporting Goods Park in Denver. Here’s the full statement from JRAD:
JRAD recently shared an official recording of their March 17th performance with Oteil on bass from Brooklyn Bowl thanks to Eric McRoberts and Peter Costello:
