Over the past few weeks Widespread Panic/Aquarium Rescue Unit guitarist Jimmy Herring has been rolling out dates for the debut tour of his new project Jimmy Herring and The Invisible Whip. Herring has finally finished and confirmed the group will play 24 headlining shows between July and early September before hitting the road at the end of the year with John McLaughlin for the Meeting Of The Spirits Tour.
The tour begins at Minglewood Hall in Memphis on July 19. From there, Jimmy Herring brings the band to Jackson, Mississippi; Birmingham, Alabama; Chattanooga, Tennessee and the Georgia cities of Atlanta, Athens and Macon ahead of stops in the North Carolina cities of Asheville and Charlotte to end July. The group’s early August dates include visits to Louisville, Columbus, Kent, Pittsburgh and Roanoke. Herring & The Invisible Whip return to the road on August 31 in San Antonio and conclude the tour with early September dates in Dallas, Fayetteville, St. Louis and the Colorado cities of Englewood, Boulder and Fort Collins.
Jimmy Herring will be joined by his longtime Aquarium Rescue Unit band mate Jeff Sipe (a.k.a. Apt-Q258) on drums, multi-instrumentalist Jason Crosby, Kevin Scott on bass and Matt Slocum on keyboards in The Invisible Whip. The band will be on the road for the bulk of November and the beginning of December for the run with McLaughlin & The 4th Dimension.
