Watch Jimmy Fallon Turn Yankee Stadium Into ‘World’s Biggest Karaoke Party’
The late-night talk show host sang The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside” during Sunday’s Jonas Brothers concert.
On Sunday, the Jonas Brothers surprised fans at their Yankee Stadium concert by bringing out special guest Jimmy Fallon. The 48-year-old host of The Tonight Show led the capacity crowd in New York City through The Killers‘ 2004 smash “Mr. Brightside.”
“Huge thanks to @jonasbrothers for giving me the surprise guest spot on ‘The Tour’ tour,” wrote Fallon on social media of his cameo. “And thank you to @yankeestadium for turning it into the world’s biggest karaoke party. This is one of those nights I will never forget.”
Yankee Stadium hosted the first two nights of Jonas Brothers’ Five Albums. One Night. The World Tour tour on Saturday and Sunday. The pop stars performed cuts from their 2023 LP The Album as well as every song from their last four studio albums before that — Jonas Brothers (2007), A Little Bit Longer (2008), Lines, Vines and Trying Times (2009) and Happiness Begins (2019).
Jimmy Fallon emerged towards the middle of Sunday’s concert as an intermission act of sorts. “Now batting, native New Yorker and host of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Fallon,” the public address announcer said over the stadium’s PA system. Fallon showed off a boombox and asked the crowd if they wanted to be “the world’s biggest karaoke party for two minutes.” Then, “Mr. Brightside” blared from his boombox. Fallon was aided by the 60K+ at Yankee Stadium in belting out the words to The Killers’ most beloved song.
Impresario Peter Shapiro was on the side of the stage and captured footage of Jimmy Fallon’s surprise guest appearance. Check out how it went down below:
