Jason Isbell, Tedeschi Trucks Band & Alabama Shakes Among Americana Music Awards Nominees

The 15th annual Americana Music Association Honors & Awards Show will take place September 21 at the famed Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. Today, the Americana Music Association unveiled this year’s nominees including Jason Isbell, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Alabama Shakes and many others.

The nominations were announced last night at a ceremony in Washington D.C. hosted by The Milk Carton Kids and featuring performances by Lucinda Williams, Margo Price and others. Isbell – who in 2014 won Album Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Artist Of The Year – was once again nominated in those three categories for his LP Something More Than Free and the album track “24 Frames.” Williams is also up for Album and Artist Of The Year as is fellow double-nominee Chris Stapleton.

Tedeschi Trucks Band was nominated for Duo/Group Of The Year against Alabama Shakes, Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell, Lake Street Dive and The Milk Carton Kids. In the Emerging Artist Of The Year category solo acts Leon Bridges, John Moreland and Margo Price are up against Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats who were also nominated for Song Of The Year. Other notable nominees include Bonnie Raitt who’s up for Artist Of The Year and Sara Watkins and Stuart Duncan who are among those vying for Instrumentalist Of The Year.
