Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit & Father John Misty Collaborate In Tulsa

By Andy Kahn Jul 1, 2019 7:54 am PDT

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit and Father John Misty wrapped a joint tour together with a concert at BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Father John Misty (Josh Tillman) sat-in with Isbell on a cover of Gillian Welch’s “Wrecking Ball” and The 400 Unit’s Amanda Shires accompanied Tillman during FJM’s set.

Shires and Tillman performed a duet on “The Night Josh Tillman Came To Our Apt.,” which was the first time the song from Father John Misty’s album I Love You, Honeybear was played on the tour. Shires also sat-in on fiddle on “Chateau Lobby #4 (in C for Two Virgins).” Tillman came out for Isbell and The 400 Unit’s encore, which was a cover of one of Isbell’s “favorite songs in the whole wide world.” Watch audience-shot video of the collaborations in Tulsa below:
