Hear Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit Put Own Stamp On Tom Petty Classic For ‘Bad Monkey’ Soundtrack

Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit shared a take on Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers‘ “You’re Gonna Get It.” The track is the band’s contribution to the Tom Petty tribute soundtrack for the Apple TV+ series Bad Monkey starring Vince Vaughn.
The Tom Petty Estate-backed soundtrack arrives in full on October 4 via WaterTower Music. As new Bad Monkey episodes premiere, songs from the soundtrack will be released.

Tracks out so far include Eddie Vedder (“Room at the Top”), Larkin Poe (“Runnin’ Down a Dream”), Fitz and The Tantrums (“Even the Losers”), flipturn (“Don’t Do Me Like That”) and Jamie Jackson (“Mary Jane’s Last Dance”).
The soundtrack also sees contributions from Sharon Van Etten, Weezer, The War On Drugs, Nathaniel Rateliff, Kurt Vile, Charlotte Lawrence and Stephen Marley among others.
Guitarist Jason Isbell and his band The 400 Unit — guitarist Sadler Vaden, keyboardist Derry DeBorja, drummer Chad Gamble, multi-instrumentalist Will Johnson and bassist Anna Butterss — tackled the title track from Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ 1978 sophomore album, You’re Gonna Get It.
