James Iha Again Joins The Smashing Pumpkins In Los Angeles

Last night original Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha again reunited with former band mates frontman Billy Corgan and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin in Los Angeles. Returning for a second surprise guest-spot at The Theatre at Ace Hotel, Iha had previously made a surprise appearance at the venue with The Pumpkins the night before, marking his first time playing with the band in 16 years.

Iha, who left the Smashing Pumpkins after their 2000 breakup, on Sunday sat-in on the same suite of Siamese Dream tracks and the Pisces Iscariot song “Whir” that were presented on the night prior. Like Saturday’s performance, last night’s encore also began with Iha joining in on a cover of “Angie” by The Rolling Stones.

Below watch audience-shot footage of Iha augmenting the Siamese Dream cuts “Mayonaise,” “Today” and “Disarm” followed by the encore performance of “Angie” captured by rjrjr8 at Sunday’s show.
