Watch Lola Young Join James Blake At BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2026

James Blake performed at BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend 2026 at Sunderland’s Herrington Country Park. The set included a guest appearance by fellow fest performer Lola Young, who joined Blake on “Make Something Up.”

Blake’s set featured the live debuts “Walk Out Music,” “Days Go By” and “Doesn’t Just Happen.” All three songs were drawn from Trying Times, Blake’s seventh studio album, which was released in March via Good Boy Records. Additional songs performed from the album included “Death Of Love” and the Trying Times title track, as well as “Make Something Up.”

Blake’s setlist further drew from across his catalog, including “Retrograde” from Overgrown, “I’ll Come Too” from Assume Form and “Choose Me” from The Colour in Anything. The Big Weekend performance also saw Blake take up covers of Feist's “The Limit to Your Love,” Frank Ocean's “Godspeed” and The Verve's “The Drugs Don’t Work.”

Blake closed the set with the 2024 single, “Thrown Around.” Young’s performance at Radio 1’s Big Weekend included “From Down Here,” her latest single that Blake co-produced.
