Lola Young has released a new single, “From Down Here,” co-produced with James Blake. The track marks her first new music since her acclaimed album I’m Only F**king Myself and her Grammy Award win for Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit “Messy.”
Young began 2026 with a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and a win for Best Pop Solo Performance for “Messy.”
“The day after the Grammys, I had a wave of inspiration hit me, so I got in the studio with the incredible James Blake and made this song,” Young revealed. “I am rewriting the next chapter of my story because what a boring book the old one would’ve been anyway.”
“From Down Here” was produced by Blake, along with his partner Jameela Jamil, and Dom Maker. Blake also contributed background vocals, keyboards, and strings. Dom Maker handled bass and drum programming.
In June, Young will headline a run of U.K. shows, including dates in Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, and two London concerts at O2 Academy Brixton. She is also scheduled to appear in the U.S. at All Things Go in September and Austin City Limits in October.
