Jack Pearson & Steve Cropper Guest With Tedeschi Trucks Band In Nashville
By Scott Bernstein Mar 4, 2016 • 7:01 am PST
On Thursday night, the Tedeschi Trucks Band began a run of three sold-out shows at the famed Ryman Auditorium in Nashville. The group was joined by a pair of ace guitarists as Steve Cropper and Jack Pearson sat-in at different points of the evening.
Cropper, a member of both the legendary Stax Records house band and Booker T. & The MGs, came out towards the middle of the show to add to a cover of Wilson Pickett’s “Ninety-Nine And A Half (Won’t Do)” and the TTB original “In Every Heart” off the band’s recently released Let Me Get By LP. Former Allman Brothers Band guitarist Jack Pearson made his first appearance of the night at the end of the set for “I Want More” as well as the title track to Let Me Get By. Pearson returned to duel with Derek on a scorching rendition of “Midnight In Harlem” as part of an encore that also saw Jack add to “It Ain’t Easy.” The Tedeschi Trucks Band returns to the Ryman tonight.
