In Memoriam | Faces Keyboardist Ian McLagan 1945 – 2014

By Scott Bernstein Dec 3, 2014 1:00 pm PST

There’s more sad news in the rock world today as keyboardist Ian McLagan has died at age 69 according to a report from Paste Magazine. McLagan was best known for his work as a member of both Small Faces and Faces.

Ian also collaborated with The Rolling Stones, who just lost saxophonist Bobby Keys yesterday. Paste writer Tim Basham was on hand in McLagan’s hotel room and reports Ian passed after suffering a stroke. Ian McLagan has sat in with a number of bands in our scene over the years including The Black Crowes and The Warren Haynes Band. He mostly focused on solo work over the last few decades.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Ian’s friends and family.
